NRC Fall 2025 Seminar
Brain Cancer Radio-Pathomics and the MCW Neuro-Oncology Brain Bank
This presentation will explore the integration of radiological imaging and pathological analysis through radio-pathomics approaches in brain cancer research. We will discuss how combining advanced imaging features with detailed tissue-level pathology help train AI models to identify tumor invasion beyond what can be seen on conventional imaging. The talk will highlight the role of the Medical College of Wisconsin Neuro-Oncology Brain Bank as a vital resource for correlating imaging phenotypes with molecular and histological characteristics. By bridging the gap between what we see on scans and what we observe under the microscope, radio-pathomics offers promising avenues for improving diagnosis, prognosis, and personalized treatment strategies for patients with brain tumors. I will present current applications, ongoing research initiatives, and future directions for this integrated approach in neuro-oncology.
