CAI Awards PCAP Funds for Journal Publication

CAI recently awarded Patient-Oriented Cardiovascular Academic Project (PCAP) Funds for Dr. Subhashish Agarwal's paper; "Association between 25-Hydroxyvitamin D and Metabolic Syndrome in Older Adults: The Health, Aging and Body Composition Study" in the March 13, 2021 issue of the International Journal of Endocrinology.

This study looks at the association between vitamin D and MetS in healthy older adults both prospectively and cross-sectionally with a high representation of African-Americans and equal numbers of men and women. Results suggest that low 25(OH)D levels may increase the odds for the prevalent metabolic syndrome in older adults.
