Biography

Dr. Demetrios Douros is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow. He has dedicated his career to helping athletes of all ages compete at their highest level.


Widely recognized for his expertise in hip preservation, Dr. Douros has advanced training in arthroscopic labral repair and the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). He is an active contributor to the field of hip arthroscopy, having served as a surgical instructor, lecturer, and published author.


In addition to his work in hip surgery, Dr. Douros also has extensive experience in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, including ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair, cartilage restoration, rotator cuff repair and labral repair in patients with shoulder instability.


Dr. Douros is passionate about all sports, but especially baseball. He represented Greece at the 2004 Olympic Games as member of their baseball team. He is currently a Team Physician for the Milwaukee Brewers and has lectured at the annual Major League Baseball Sports Medicine Meeting. He is also a Team Physician for the Milwaukee Bucks, Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee Ballet, and Shorewood High School.


In his free time, Dr. Douros enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, who are all athletes. He gives back to his community by serving as a youth baseball coach and has mentored hundreds of young athletes during his time in Milwaukee.
