Overall, my goal is to leverage my background in synthetic organic chemistry to develop and study new biologically active molecules. Currently, I’m working elucidating the mechanism of action of praziquantel, an essential antiparasitic drug, through functional and computational assays. I am also developing new, broad-spectrum anti-infectives through iterative rounds of target-based high-throughput screening, functional profiling, medicinal chemistry campaigns, and molecular modeling.
