Research Interests
Biochemistry and structural biology (analysis of binding and x-Ray crystallography). Throughout undergrad I studied the structure and function of the NadA class I riboswitch binding to metabolites. I additionally spent two summers at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital studying the structure of an influenza endonuclease and coat proteins of Dengue. Ultimately would like to use these techniques to develop novel antimicrobials.
Research Experience
University of Rochester, 2018-2020
Advisor: Joseph Wedekind, PhD
Project: Structure and function of riboswitches
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 2018-2019
Stephen White, DPhil
Projects: 1) purification of a dengue virus coat protein, to determine a novel antiviral, 2) finding a co-crystal structure of the influenza PAN endonuclease complexed with the natural substrate of a dinucleotide
