Biography

Dr. Mei Wang is Associate Professor and Director of Biomechanics Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She also holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University. Her major research interests include spine biomechanics, biomechanics of orthopaedic trauma and sports injuries, and multi-segment kinematics and kinetic modeling for rehabilitation research. Dr. Wang joined the Dept. of Orthopaedic Surgery of MCW in late 1999 after three and half years of post-doctoral training in the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Laboratory of University of Louisville. She previously received Master of Science and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1991 and 1996 respectively. Dr. Wang is a member of the Orthopaedic Research Society and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. In November 2011, Dr. Wang was a featured speaker at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting, in Chicago, IL.
