Giving Boards Supporting the Medical College of Wisconsin

These groups, comprised of prominent business, professional, and civic leaders are our partners who help to secure the financial and non-financial resources needed to advance our mission. We are grateful to their ongoing commitment to creating a healthier world.

The Philanthropic Board helps to guide our mission and vision by raising awareness of the MCW Cancer Center as a leader in cancer research and care. Comprised of prominent business, professional, and civic leaders, the Philanthropic Board works together with the community to secure the financial and non-financial resources needed to advance cancer discoveries, including:

  • Pilot funding, which allows researchers to develop a track record to compete for and leverage long-term federal funds

Neuroscience Research Center (NRC) Board

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Neuroscience Research Center was founded in 2010 with the goal of enhancing neuroscience research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The Center's overarching goal is to use a team approach to tackle neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Philanthropy plays an important role in advancing the work of the Neuroscience Center and the patients who receive its benefits. Your gift will support research that moves us one step closer to understanding complex and devastating brain disorders such as Alzheimer's and dementia, Parkinson's disease, ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and schizophrenia, among others.

Women in Science (WIS) Board (Archived)

To showcase outstanding research and provide financial support for women physicians and scientists at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Launched in May of 2007 as a forum for scientific presentations to the community, the Women in Science board guided a lecture series that provided educational presentations and financial awards to support research grants and elevated the role of women working in medical discovery at MCW. The endowed fund raised by this amazing group of supporters was converted to a professorship in 2022 following feedback from donors and faculty. This professorship will be awarded to a woman researcher and leader at MCW.
