Dr. Mukoso Ozieh is an adult nephrologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and a Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) degree at the Medical University of South Carolina during her nephrology fellowship under a T32 grant.

Research Interests

Dr. Ozieh’s research interest is in health disparities and healthcare utilization as it relates to health outcomes among minorities with chronic kidney disease (CKD), particularly diabetes-related kidney disease. She is focused on lifestyle interventions to prevent or delay progression of CKD and is also interested in the interplay among psychosocial factors, race/ethnicity, and health outcomes for chronic diseases. She is currently the principal investigator for two ongoing studies at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Additionally, Dr. Ozieh is interested in global health research in chronic kidney disease especially to better understand the prevalence of CKD, improve awareness, and to provide screening and education in developing countries.
