Biography
Breanna is a public health professional driven by a passion for making healthcare more accessible, equitable, and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves. She believes that improving health requires understanding the social, environmental, behavioral, and systemic factors that shape well-being and developing practical, community-centered approaches that meet people where they are. She joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2022, where she spent several years providing metabolic health education in underserved communities, using motivational interviewing to support sustainable health behavior change before transitioning to the Institute for Health & Humanity.
Breanna earned her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health Promotion. Her capstone project explored community readiness to address microplastics and plastic pollution in the greater Milwaukee area, reflecting her longstanding interest in the relationship between environmental stewardship and public health. She has experience in health education, epidemiology, program development, and population health, and is especially passionate about advancing metabolic health while expanding access to high-quality healthcare. She is fascinated by the root causes of health and how environmental, social, and behavioral influences interact to shape both physical and mental well-being. She enjoys designing programs and initiatives that remove barriers to care, strengthen communities, and create lasting improvements in health outcomes.
Outside of her day-to-day work, Breanna enjoys staying current with emerging research in metabolic health, environmental health, and population health. She believes that protecting the environment is an essential part of improving community health and is passionate about advancing sustainability as a public health priority. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, crafting, and volunteering with local environmental and nature-focused organizations.
