Biography

Mandy Potapenko joined MCW in 2025 as a Program Manager II in the Division of Data Surveillance and Informatics, within the Institute for Health & Humanity. She leads initiatives focused on cross-sector data sharing to support prevention and intervention activities across Wisconsin. Mandy brings nearly 20 years of experience driving systemic change at the intersection of public health, criminal justice, and community engagement. Most recently, she served as a National Programs Advisor with the U.S. Department of Justice's National Institute of Corrections, where she provided technical assistance to states and counties nationwide and served as a national expert in the development of national standards for criminal justice coordinating councils. Prior to her federal role, Mandy served as Executive Director of Milwaukee County’s Community Justice Council for eight years, where she secured over $30 million in competitive funding, built cross-sector partnerships, and led data-driven initiatives to improve safety and community outcomes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
