Biography
Before starting undergrad, I discovered genetic counseling, and was immediately sold! I felt that it was a natural fit for me because it combines my love of science with my interest in understanding and connecting with people. During my time in undergrad, I was involved at my university’s health care center, where I worked with the Special Populations Program on health education, outreach, and connecting students with healthcare resources.
I also spent time with RACES (Rape Advocacy, Counseling & Education services) in Urbana as a hotline volunteer. I really enjoyed working with diverse student populations and learning how to increase the accessibility of care. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends, going on walks, and watching Sunday football and documentaries. I’ve also recently been trying to get into baking and have been having fun experimenting with different recipes, even if they don’t always turn out exactly as planned (LOL). I’m super excited to be part of MCW’s sixth cohort and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
