Biography
Dr. Sadaf Asim Siddiqie, MD, MPhil, MPH, is a dedicated physician scientist and public health professional with years of experience spanning clinical medicine, pathology research, academic and community health. Her career is driven by a profound commitment to understanding and dismantling the social determinants of health that underlie cancer disparities.
She is currently a DrPH candidate at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she is deepening her expertise in health equity. Dr. Siddiqie's journey began in clinical medicine, where she served as a Chief Medical Officer at Ziauddin Cancer Hospital, Pakistan, gaining firsthand insight into the complexities of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. This clinical foundation fueled her passion for prevention and led her to pursue research, culminating in an MPhil in Pathology with a thesis on high-risk HPV genotypes in cervical cancer. This early work established her dedication to investigating the root causes of cancer, particularly in underserved populations. Her commitment to prevention is now channeled through a public health lens.
Her MPH training and current DrPH program are focused on developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based interventions to promote health equity. This is reflected in her recent work at the Broad Street Institute, where she analyzed public health data to identify disparities in maternal care and skin cancer, and her field placement with the City of Milwaukee Health Department, where she engaged with community stakeholders on public health priorities. Dr. Siddiqie's research is centered on making cancer prevention accessible to all.
In an ongoing project at MCW, she is developing a culturally tailored decision aid to support lung cancer screening among African American women who smoke or formerly smoked, a group that faces significant barriers to equitable care. Dr. Siddiqie brings a unique, integrated perspective to her work, connecting clinical insights with epidemiological data and community-based strategies. She is passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice to create sustainable systems change. A member of the American Public Health Association, she is fluent in multiple languages, allowing her to connect with diverse populations and further her mission to create healthier, more equitable communities.
