Biography

Alexandria Bear, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine specializing in hospice and palliative medicine. She completed her medical degree (2013), residency in Internal Medicine (2016),and fellowship in Palliative Care (2017) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). A year after, she went on to complete her fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at MCW. Her clinical interests include prognostication in end-stage illnesses and early introduction of end-of-life teaching concepts for medical trainees.

 

Ongoing Palliative Medicine Clinical and Scholarship Projects

  • Educational effectiveness of improving internal medicine residents skills in prognostication
  • Educational effectiveness of utilizing videotaped feedback of standardized patient experiences to improve communication skills among critical care physicians.
  • Interdisciplinary approach to improving communication in the ICU.
  • Designing educational workshops to teach end-of-life communication.
