Biography
Cory Smid, MGSC CGC is a genetic counselor who joined our team in the summer of 2025 and specializes in our adult neurogenetics adult genomic medicine clinics (AGMC). Cory received his undergraduate and Master of Genetic Counselor Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
As the recipient of the 2024 Genetic Counselor Educators Association (GCEA) “outstanding supervisor award”, Cory has a passion for working with future genetic counselors and other learners. Cory is equally passionate to provide top-quality care for all patients. Empathy, adaptability, and thoroughness have helped him form a firm foundation for excellent patient care. As an educator, Cory empowers students to build their own sturdy foundation of genetic counseling skills, and encourages their strengths to provide personalized, top-tier genetic counseling services.
Outside of work, Cory enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible- ideally with his spouse and two pups. He is often traveling, hiking, or spending time with his beloved family.
