Biography

Dr. Scott E. Van Valin joined the Department of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Children’s Wisconsin in the Fall of 2008. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and also a member of Children’s Specialty Group. Prior to coming to Children's, Dr. Van Valin was in private practice in Milwaukee, WI.

Dr. Van Valin obtained his bachelor degree in Medical Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1990 and went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1993. Continuing on, he served an Internship in General Surgery at the University of California in Oakland in 1994. Dr. Van Valin then served in the US Navy as a Battalion/Regimental Surgeon. He completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA in 2002. Further, he served a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of San Diego/University of California in 2005.

Research Interests

Dr. Van Valin is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ABOS) and specializes in pediatric and adolescent sports injuries and complex foot and hip disorders.
