Hobbies & Interests: One of my favorite hobbies in my free time is cooking. I love experimenting with different cuisines and incorporating fresh produce from the farmer's market. I find it so relaxing and therapeutic. I’m also a Peloton fanatic and love all of Alex Toussaint’s rides, especially 90s hip-hop rides. If I have the time, you’ll also find me dropping in for CrossFit classes at CrossFit Funky in New Berlin. Milwaukee has such a great food and drink scene that I love exploring. My favorite places include Black Sheep, 3rd Coast Provisions, Uncle Wolfie's, Ope, and Tenuta's. I also love to travel – top of my wish list is Tenerife, Malta, and Crete.
Why I chose MCW: MCW stood out to me as a medical student for multiple reasons. The early operative experience, operative autonomy of the chiefs, and overall relationships of the residents was outstanding and different from my other interviews and aways. I wanted a program that felt like home but would push me to become a great all-around surgeon.
What MCW has to offer a candidate: The opportunity to work at a very busy Level 1 trauma center that offers robust experiences in Oncology and Pediatrics.
What I like about living in Milwaukee: To me, Milwaukee offers the feels of a big city without the hassles of being a major metropolitan area. Anywhere you need to get in Milwaukee, you can probably get there within 15 minutes without significant traffic. The suburbs are close to downtown with more affordable buying options than other bigger cities tend to be. There is an excellent food and bar scene with major sports teams/event arenas that bring great entertainment to town.
