Hobbies & Interests: I enjoy spending my free time working out, reading, learning new languages, skiing, attempting to golf and play pickleball. I’m a big Manchester United fan, and love catching premier league games. I also love to travel. Argentina is on my bucket list, and I’d love to go see an F1 race.

Why I chose MCW: I chose MCW because of its resident culture and the opportunities available to residents starting as a PGY-1. Having the chance to work with such dedicated colleagues and mentors makes a great training environment and continually pushes me to develop as a surgeon.

What MCW has to offer a candidate: Training at a Level 1 trauma center in a major city offers great exposure to a variety of musculoskeletal pathologies. Residents get early extensive operative experience and with all subspecialties in house, the training is second to none and produces well rounded graduates. We have great camaraderie between the residents, and I feel fortunate to be a part of this community.

What I like about living in Milwaukee: While I’m still getting used to the winters, Milwaukee summers are great. I’m a big fan a going to concerts, and really enjoy all of Milwaukee’s festivals. I love being in such an active city and being close to the Eritrean community in Chicago.
