Research Interests

Dr. Melzer-Lange's research interests include the care of adolescents in the emergency department, in particular care of youth who are impacted by interpersonal violence. She researches evidence-based ways that hospital systems may provide trauma-informed care to at-risk youth and their families. In addition, she is interested in suicide screening, as well as screening for violence risk factors in the emergency department setting.

Dr. Melzer-Lange's research aims to decrease preventable injuries to youth.   With violence, her research aims to link community resources, such as schools, to hospital-based resources to prevent further violent injury.
