Biography

Michelle Willes is a licensed, certified genetic counselor. She works in the pediatric department at Children's Wisconsin and sees patients in the general genetics and metabolic clinics, as well as being the first genetic counselor to join Children's Wisconsin's multi-disciplinary thalassemia and immune dysregulation clinics. Michelle completed her Master's of Genetic Counseling from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2022 and joined the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Wisconsin genetics teams shortly after. Michelle is a strong advocate for the rare disease community. She is devoted to educating, empowering, and supporting the patients she meets with. Michelle enjoys teaching and fostering the growth of genetic counseling students and other medical learners.
