Biography

Carlyle H. Chan, MD, is a former Training Director and is the founder of the Door County Summer Institute. He is a past President of American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT), and past Chair of the Organization of Program Director Associations (OPDA). He currently serves on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Psychiatry Residency Review Committee and he is the past Chair of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Board of Directors.

He is a recipient of the ACGME Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award, the Association for Academic Psychiatry's Distinguished Senior Fellow Award, and MCW's Society of Teaching Scholars. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and books, including Computers in Clinical Psychiatry. He maintains an active clinical practice focusing on patients with depression, bipolar, and anxiety/panic disorders, was voted one of Milwaukee Magazine's Top Doctors, and was selected as one of the Best Doctors in America.
