Biography

Dr. Chandler Cortina was born and raised in Louisiana where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at Louisiana State University and his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He then completed a residency in General Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr Cortina then completed a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center at Northwestern University and joined the Division of Surgical Oncology here at Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin in September 2019 as a Breast Surgical Oncologist.

Research Interests

Dr. Chandler Cortina has strong passion for breast cancer outcomes research. His current research is focused on axillary management trends and the treatment of older adults with breast cancer. Dr. Cortina’s research also focuses on assessing both the potential risk and management of breast cancer in transgender persons.
