McKenna Luzynski currently works for the Virginia Department of Health as the District Epidemiologist for Southside Health District. Serving three rural counties on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, she is passionate about rural health, as well as maternal and child health. McKenna has extensive experience in multiple areas of public health, including research, health education and community outreach, and field epidemiology. Outside of her job, she sits on the Board of Directors for VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA. McKenna completed her MSc in Public Health with a concentration in Environment and Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also holds a BS in Public Health and Spanish from Furman University. McKenna resides in South Hill, VA with her husband and one-eyed rescue cat.
