Biography
Dr. Sheran Mahatme is a board-certified Infectious Diseases (ID) physician and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her three-year Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2005. Her training was preceded by an Internal Medicine internship at Genesys Regional Medical Health Systems in Grand Blanc, Michigan and an Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Mahatme holds a Master of Public Health in Public and Community Health Services. She serves as the Chief of Infectious Diseases, HIV Lead Physician, and Associate Chief of Staff for Community Care at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. Furthermore, she is the VISN12 Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Physician Lead and VISN12 Co-Infectious Diseases Physician Lead for the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Mahatme has specialized interests in HIV care, HIV prevention, and sexually transmitted infections/prevention. Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Mahatme and her family enjoy traveling, cooking, exploring new culinary experiences, and attending various arts performances.
