Biography

Dr. Sheran Mahatme is a board certified Infectious Diseases (ID) physician with a specialized interest in HIV care. She completed her three year Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2005. Her training was preceded by an Internal Medicine internship at Genesys Regional Medical Health Systems in Grand Blanc, Michigan and an Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Mahatme holds a Masters of Public Health in Public and Community Health Services. She serves as the Associate Chief of Infectious Diseases at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and is an assistant professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her focus in care centers around HIV prevention, retention, and linkage to care and medical education. Outside of work, Dr. Mahatme and her husband enjoy traveling, cooking, seeking new “foodie” adventures, and attending various performances in the arts. She and her husband also love spending time with their three mischievous dogs.
