Biography

Dr. Orner is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine and pediatric orthopaedics. Her dual fellowship training allows her to care for patients across all age groups, including children, adolescents and young adults.

Dr. Orner specializes in hip preservation surgery. She has expertise in arthroscopic and open hip surgery including labral and cartilage repair, surgical management of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and correction of hip dysplasia including periacetabular osteotomy (PAO). She is the only hip preservation surgeon in Wisconsin who completed both pediatric and sports medicine fellowships, setting her apart in her ability to manage complex hip disorders in patients of all ages. Dr. Orner also treats unique hip conditions in young patients with open growth plates, including slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) and apophyseal injuries.

In addition to hip preservation, Dr. Orner also specializes in pediatric and adult sports injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow. She also provides both non-operative and surgical treatment for many types of fractures. She cares for both recreational and competitive athletes of all ages, including children who are still growing and require unique surgical techniques. Dr. Orner offers patients the most advanced surgical options in ACL reconstruction, osteochondritis dissecans repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization, patellofemoral stabilization, rotator cuff repair and cartilage restoration.
