Call for Applications: Department of Biophysics Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Summary. The Department of Biophysics Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is awarded to a scientist of exceptional promise and creativity who recently earned a graduate degree (PhD, MD or equivalent degree). The Fellowship provides full salary support for research performed in the laboratory of a faculty advisor who provides research resources and guidance. Fellows benefit from a strong network of support, research resources and opportunities for interdisciplinary and collaborative research, available in the Department of Biophysics and MCW.

Qualifications. Candidates must be within 1 year of earning a PhD, MD or equivalent degree, have an outstanding record of graduate research that demonstrates originality and independence, and have no scientific, budgetary or commitment overlap for the proposed research with other funding sources.

Period of support. The fellowship provides one year of support with renewal for a second year contingent upon demonstration of achievement.

Review process. Applications will be reviewed by the Department's leadership team (Chair, Vice Chairs, and Department Administrator) for award decision by the Department Chair.

Anticipated start date. Summer 2025.

  • Outline of research goals and qualifications for the fellowship (1 page limit)
  • NIH-style biosketch (5 page limit)
  • A letter of support from the proposed advisor briefly outlining the research goals for postdoctoral research.
  • A letter of support from the graduate advisor outlining the qualifications of the applicant.
