With tremendous gratitude for her tenure and contributions, we announce that on Jan. 10, Cheryl Glisch, department administrator (DA) of Radiation Oncology, will be retiring after four decades of continuous service at MCW, including 22 years in her current role.

Cheryl joined MCW as a student therapist in 1978. After just three years as a student therapist, Cheryl became program director for the Radiation Therapy Program at County Hospital, the position that laid the foundation for her influential career at MCW. Cheryl worked as a quality manager from 1995-2000, ensuring that standards of safety and quality were upheld. Since 2000, Cheryl has brought her outstanding leadership skills, administrative prowess and spirit of perseverance and positivity to the DA role. For 22 years, she delivered results that exceeded the expectations of her colleagues. From departmental budgets that never once fell short to the seamless implementation of several new community divisions to strong advocacy for the financial support of over 90 faculty and staff members, Cheryl’s impact on the missions of Radiation Oncology has garnered her the respect and admiration of those who work with her.

We are thrilled to announce that Christine Quandt will be transitioning into the role of Radiation Oncology department administrator on Jan. 30.

Chris brings a breadth of expertise in strategic planning, clinical operations, business development and more to the department administrator role as well as eight years of experience in department and division administrator roles. Most recently, she served as the associate department administrator of finance in the pediatrics department at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, but she served in multiple positions at MCW from 1994-2022. In January 2020, Chris became the senior division administrator of the Department of Pediatrics – Neonatology. In this role, she was responsible for the oversight of operational activities - including the department’s operating budget, the maintenance of efficiency and compliance with departmental and legal standards, and the supervision and mentorship of staff members in the department. Prior to that, Chris served as division administrator in the Department of Surgery – Cardiothoracic. With her related experience and longstanding tenure with MCW, Chris will be an asset to the department and a key partner in ensuring operational excellence and alignment with the missions of the department.
