Forbes Ranks MCW as a 2022 Best-In-State Employer
After surveying 70,000 employees from companies across the United States with 500 or more employees, Forbes has recognized the Medical College of Wisconsin as a Best-In-State Employer for the second year in a row. On a national level, making the 2022 Forbes list of Best Employers by State ranks MCW in the top 3% of all U.S. employers with 500 or more employees.
As part of the survey, respondents answered a series of work-related questions about working conditions, compensation, opportunities for advancement and openness to remote/virtual work, and then asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to family and friends.
The anonymous surveys were conducted from October 2021 to June 2022, a period during which the pandemic transitioned to an endemic. MCW responded to this by successfully reopening its campuses while continuing to promote effective remote/hybrid work and learning and building upon its statewide reputation as a COVID-19 subject matter expert. MCW also built a more robust wellness program to deal with burnout amongst learners, faculty and staff, and continued the acceleration of its journey to be an inclusive organization where everyone feels seen, heard, supported and valued.
“I am very pleased that MCW has received this honor from Forbes for the second consecutive year despite the challenges experienced by academic institutions and the healthcare industry,” said John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, president and CEO. “We are committed to continuing to invest in our people, programs, missions, partnerships and opportunities for continued growth as a top employer in Wisconsin.”
We are so proud of our people at MCW and what they have accomplished together over the past few years,” said Adrienne Mitchell, MBA, MCW chief people officer. “We are fortunate to have some of the best faculty and staff with an unwavering dedication to the MCW mission. It is our people that make our institution what it is and are responsible for MCW receiving honors like this one. Thank you to all who make MCW an exceptional place to work and learn.”
