Research Interests

Cellular injury resulting from genetic and/or environmental disequilibrium informs many of the questions that I currently ask. I am particularly interested in the nervous system and wish to better understand the maladaptive mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases.

Research Experience

Marquette University, 2016-2019
Advisor: Murray Blackmore, PhD and Naveen Jayaprakash, PhD
Project: Combined pro-regenerative strategies and targeted rehabilitation to improve behavioral outcomes after spinal cord injury

General Interests

I spend my time outside of school and lab with my wife and our dog, Glia. We love to hike, camp, and spend time exploring the outdoors. To stay creative and share my love for science, I enjoy facilitating scientific discovery activities with local middle/high school students. You can find me on the local bike paths, golf courses, and city parks or enjoying the great restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries that make Milwaukee special.
