Biography

Dr. Kai Yang is an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He joined the Division of Biostatistics in the fall of 2021. His major methodological research interests include spatial epidemiology, online monitoring of medical outcomes, and quality control and improvement. He is particularly interested in developing statistical methodologies and computational tools for nonparametric modeling and sequential monitoring of large-scale spatio-temporal data. His collaborative research interests are focused on infectious diseases, cancers and cardiovascular diseases. He has close collaborations with several research groups at MCW including the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Department of Surgery.

Research Interests

Dr. Yang’s research interests include spatio-temporal data analysis, statistical process control and image processing. He is particularly interested in developing statistical methodologies and computational tools for nonparametric modeling and sequential monitoring of spatio-temporal data. His collaborative research interests are focused on infectious diseases, cancers and cardiovascular diseases. He is a biostatistician for several research groups at MCW including the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Division of Surgical Oncology.
