Monkeypox and College Campuses

As students return to college campuses, health and school officials are working on putting together appropriate protocols and communicating with students and the larger community. Dr. Ben Weston, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin emergency medicine physician, urges universities and colleges to have a plan in place. He states that it isn’t a matter of “if” but “when and how.” Dr. Weston wants to see universities have procedures for testing, isolating, and contact tracing. Students return to Milwaukee area campuses the final week of August; therefore, it is imperative universities do not wait to put plans together.
