Biography

Emily is a certified acute care nurse practitioner in the Department of Neurosurgery. She completed her undergraduate degree in 2012 from Luther College, followed by work in neuroscience and clinical/translational research at the University of Iowa. After a few years, she decided to pursue her nursing degree. She moved to Milwaukee and completed her MSN from Marquette University in 2017. She then worked as a nurse at Froedtert Hospital on the neuroscience floor and the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. By spending years at the bedside taking care of patients with high acuity neurological conditions, she gained immeasurable experiences that helped develop her personalized and compassionate care practices. Her passion for caring for the neuro population continued to grow as she transitioned from critical care nursing to becoming a nurse practitioner in 2024. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her spouse, furry family members (dog and cats), and friends.

Emily's practice involves caring for adult neurosurgical patients pre- and post-operatively while they are inpatients at Froedtert Hospital, as well as in the Neuroscience Clinic. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, patient-centered care for individuals with a range of neurosurgical conditions; however, her practice focuses on cranial neurotrauma. In practice, she strives to provide continuity of care focusing on smooth transitions between phases of care. She really enjoys educating her patients and their families about their diagnosis and treatment plan.
