Biography
Thomas Hosseini is a medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he conducted research under the supervision of Vivek Prabhakaran, MD, PhD, in the Department of Radiology. As an undergraduate, Thomas worked closely with stroke survivors to help them regain upper extremity motor function using a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) rehabilitation system--an experience that cultivated his interest in how injured brain networks reorganize and recover.
Thomas’s passion for neurosurgery is driven by his fascination with the neural mechanisms that support recovery, cognition, and functional outcomes following brain injury. He is eager to integrate advanced neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and network-based approaches to better understand how surgical and neuromodulatory interventions can improve patient outcomes.
