Biography

I grew up on a farm just outside of Green Bay, Wisconsin. I was fortunate enough to attend the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and play Division 1 volleyball for 4 years. During my senior year at UW-Green Bay, I took part in a program at MCW called Student Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) where I worked in the AOIP lab for a summer. My project was working with color-deficient individuals and testing their color discrimination while wearing commercially marketed color correcting glasses. I used the Colour Assessment and Diagnostic (CAD) to assess repeatability and quantify the data from color deficient individuals with and without the color correcting glasses. Upon graduation from UW-Green Bay, I decided to take a gap year before applying to medical schools to come back to the AOIP lab and continue doing research.

Research Interests

My current project is working with color deficient individuals to test commercially marketed glasses using the Colour Assessment and Diagnosis (CAD). I will also be learning how to image patients using Adaptive Optics (AO) and will work on processing AO data.
