Research Interests

Dr. Browne is invested in improving the emergency medical care of children through quality clinical research focused on prehospital pediatric care and competent education of emergency medicine providers. He has served as the Milwaukee Site Principal Investigator of the Charlotte, Houston, and Milwaukee Prehospital (CHaMP) Research Node in the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) since its inception in 2013. With this research infrastructure now in place, Dr. Browne is focused on high-quality, priority-based research to improve the care delivered to children prior to hospital arrival.

Current research efforts are focused on the recognition, assessment, and appropriate management of prehospital pain in children, prehospital seizure management, prehospital evaluation and management of respiratory distress in children and pediatric destination decision making by prehospital providers.
