Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellow, 2025-2027

Biography

Hometown: Charlottesville, VA

Medical School: University of Virginia

Residency: Rush University Medical Center

Research/Scholarly Project: I came to ID fellowship directly from PICU fellowship, so I am a two year fellow without a formal ID scholarly project/research time. My critical care research was on the association between tracheal aspirate neutrophils and systemic inflammatory markers. I am currently working on a project looking at the impact of changing a microbiology lab protocol for tracheal aspirate cultures.

Mentors: Dr. Rebecca Steuart, Dr. Kelly Graff, Dr. Michelle Mitchell

Research Interests: Respiratory infections in long term tracheostomy patients, antimicrobial stewardship

Interests and Hobbies: You can often find me on the pickleball court, sometimes with my pager clipped to the fence! I also love skiing, the NYT crossword, and, recently, water coloring (badly).

Why did I choose MCW for fellowship? I was here at MCW/CW for PICU fellowship and have really felt at home in this institution and developed some strong professional relationships here. I have found the culture to be particularly collaborative, which is so helpful for my education as a trainee. Having worked with the ID faculty and fellows in the hospital, I knew they were a great group of people, all passionate about peds ID and excited to share and teach.

One of the best things about living in Milwaukee? Custard has always been my favorite frozen dessert! And you can't beat my six-minute commute.
