414 LIFE Awarded $100,000 Community Safety Fund Support Grant from Everytown for Gun Safety

414 LIFE, a violence prevention program of the City of Milwaukee Office of Community Wellness and Safety and implemented by MCW's Comprehensive Injury Center, recently received a $100,000 Community Safety Fund Support Grant from Everytown for Gun Safety. 414 LIFE will use these funds to deepen their community engagement efforts through public events, neighborhood outreach, and educational campaigns that foster trust, raise awareness, and mobilize collective action to reduce gun violence. The award will also allow the team to develop and distribute community-relevant educational materials to shift community norms around violence and promote safer environments. Guided by the understanding that gun violence is a public health issue, the mission of 414 LIFE is to interrupt and reduce retaliatory gun violence using culturally centered disease control and behavior change methods. 414 LIFE team members are trained, credible professionals from the communities they serve.
