500 Stars Initiative Celebrates Successful Completion of 2026 Summer Internship Program

On July 31 the 500 Stars Initiative hosted an amazing completion ceremony at ThriveOn King, celebrating the accomplishments of 52 students who successfully completed the 2026 summer internship program.

With great appreciation, each student received a completion certificate and stipend in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout the summer. The ceremony was made even more special by the presence of several distinguished guests.

New MCW President, Shekar N. Kurpad, MD, PhD, joined us as a surprise guest, while Greg Wesely, President and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, delivered an inspiring keynote address. Tiffany Henry, Office Director, also made a special appearance on behalf of Senator Tammy Baldwin.

The success of the 500 Stars Initiative is made possible through the dedication and support of individuals committed to creating meaningful opportunities for students. We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Cassie Ferguson, Dr. Michael Levas, Exie Walker, Chamia Gary, and all the preceptors for their invaluable contributions and for helping make this year's program possible.

The completion ceremony was more than a celebration of the end of a summer program – it was a celebration of the potential, growth, and accomplishments of 52 promising young people. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how they continue to shine.
