Biochemistry Graduate Student Wins Versiti Blood Research Institute Innovation Award
Noah Peng, Biochemistry graduate student in Dr. Christian Kastrup's lab, won the Innovation Award at the Versiti Blood Research Institute's Innovation Summit in April.
This April, the Versiti Blood Research Institute’s Innovation Committee hosted an exciting poster session aimed at bridging the gap between research and real-world impact. The event invited researchers to present their work and pitch it as a product with market potential.
Noah, with his poster titled "Transfusable platelets as a disease-targeted RNA delivery platform", was selected as a finalist and invited to present at a follow-up Innovation Summit, where he was named runner-up and awarded a $10,000 Innovation Award by Versiti CEO Chris Miskel. The award will go toward advancing the proposed product.
This recognition highlights the promise of the research and reflects the growing importance of innovation in biomedical science.
