We are pleased that you are considering a career in anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The faculty at MCW are dedicated to training superior clinicians of our specialty and stimulating a lifelong interest in learning. The MCW training program in anesthesiology offers the triad of excellent patient care, a faculty invested in their continuing education, and research activities designed to bring forth new knowledge.
We are fortunate to have as part of our training program a strong pediatric experience at a world-renowned children's hospital (the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin) in addition to well recognized and respected members of the departments of anesthesiology and surgery at our various affiliated hospitals (Froedtert Hospital, the VA Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital, etc.) that provide our residents with a tremendous depth and breadth of adult patient clinical material.
We provide training programs for Residency and Fellowships as well as actively participating in the Medical College of Wisconsin's Physician Scientists Development Pathway (APSDP). We also offer a Master of Science in Anesthesia – Anesthesiologist Assistant Program for aspiring Anesthesiologist Assistants.
More junior investigators and aspiring anesthesiologists are invited to check out the early-Stage Anesthesia Scholars website, an academic home for early-career anesthesiologist scientists led in part by our Dr Julie Freed.
