WBCS Pinktacular Salute to Survivors Fashion Show and Luncheon to take place Oct. 5

Sept. 15 - The Pinktacular Salute to Survivors Fashion Show and Luncheon, hosted by WBCS, Inc., will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee. MCW surgical oncologist Alonzo P. Walker, MD, will be presented the organization's Christy Foote Fighter Award for his research, patient care and long advocacy for breast cancer patients.

Cullen Family Runs for Heart Health and Research

Sept. 13 - On a brisk but relatively seasonal day in February 2017, hundreds of people gather a few miles northwest of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) to honor the life of a former Milwaukee alderman and to raise money for the MCW Cardiovascular Center (CVC).

CTSI Discovery Radio Show to discuss the process of advancing innovations to commercialization

Sept. 12 - The next CTSI Discovery Radio show airs this Friday, Sept. 15, at 12 p.m.. This month’s show focuses on the process of advancing innovations to commercialization by the MCW Office of Technology Development (OTD), and a preview of the upcoming SBIR/STTR Program’s national conference being held in Milwaukee this Fall. The show features interviews with Eddie Diehl, PhD, marketing manager, OTD, MCW; Kalpa Vithalani, PhD, licensing manager, OTD, MCW; and Lisa Johnson, CEO, BioForward Wisconsin.

Wisconsin researchers awarded $5.3 million for NIH precision medicine research

Sept. 8 - The Medical College of Wisconsin, the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health have collectively been awarded $5,360,832 to help implement in Wisconsin the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) All of Us Research Program that aims to benefit communities across the country. These institutions will partner with BloodCenter of Wisconsin and regional Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to aid in engagement and recruitment of research participants.

Sept. 8 - The 11th annual Women in Science Series continues on Sept. 20 with Denise Uyar, MD, MCW associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, who will give a presentation titled, The Potential Impact of the human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination.
