Biography

Dr. Butler taught behavioral science to family medicine residents from 1980 to 2018. Dr. Butler earned his doctorate in Psychology at Marquette University and completed a fellowship at the Victor Gollancz Foundation in the Federal Republic of Germany. He served as Program Chair for The Forum for Behavioral Science in Family Medicine for 14 years and was a steering committee member for the STFM Behavioral Science-Family Systems Fellowship. His research interests include the impact of traumatic health events, resident well-being, educational methods including video-recording in training and the integration of mental health services in health care. He received an Alumni Achievement Award from Marquette University in 2010.
