Hospitalization Rates at Lowest Since April 2020
Milwaukee County is seeing the lowest rate of hospitalizations since April 2020. On Monday May 31, it was reported that 186 patients were hospitalized statewide for COVID-19, which is even lower than the 192 hospitalized in April 2020. According to Dr. Ben Weston, "we know why that decrease is, it's because of vaccinations". He states more people in the Milwaukee community are getting vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them. Health workers will be keeping an eye on variants this year and will assess if people need a booster shot.
