Medical College of Wisconsin APP Adult Multi-Specialty Hospitalist Fellowship
The APP Adult Multi-Specialty Hospitalist Fellowship is a training program designed to prepare NPs and PAs to manage complex, acutely ill patients within the academic healthcare system and acute care teams. Through structured education – including didactics, online learning, simulation, proctored procedures, and mentored clinical practice – fellows strengthen their clinical decision-making and specialized skills in hospital medicine.
About Our Fellowship
Who should be interested in the multi-specialty hospitalist fellowship?
- APPs with interest in advancing their clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat complex patients on surgical and medical teams in the hospital setting. This includes caring for complex patients 24-hours a day in an academic, tertiary center.
- APPs interested in transitioning to practice in a mentored environment to build a professional network and clarify through experience a best fit for clinical practice and starting their career.

- 12-month program
- Applications open Spring 2025
- Fall and Spring start dates with first cohort to start in March 2026
- Up to 4 fellows annually, split between cohorts
How we learn
Our fellowship program focuses on hands-on, clinical experiences throughout the academic healthcare system with hospitalist medical and surgical teams as the foundation for caring for patients in the inpatient setting.
Meet Our Team
Education for the APP Adult Multi-Specialty Hospitalist Fellowship program is supported by an APP, physician, and education coordinator leadership team in addition to APP and physician specialists and educators from acute care specialties in the academic healthcare system with hospitalist medical and surgical teams.
