Biography
Dr. Ioachimescu has longstanding experience in pituitary disorders, including rare conditions such as acromegaly and Cushing’s disease. She collaborates closely with neurosurgery and incorporates the latest medical advances to offer tailored patient care. Dr. Ioachimescu has been invited to participate as an expert at several international consensus guidelines. She has served as a scientific advisor for patient support groups and has supported the implementation of patient reported outcomes in clinical practice and research.
Dr. Ioachimescu has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters. She has had editorial experience with prestigious journals such as Endocrine Reviews, Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North America, Pituitary and Journal of Endocrine Society. She co-edited the book “Pituitary disorders throughout the life cycle.”
Dr. Ioachimescu is passionate about mentoring students, trainees and young faculty. She is the chair of the Early Career Committee and served as faculty for the Master Pituitary Course for Fellows in Training of the Pituitary Society. She has served as faculty at multiple conferences organized by the Endocrine Society, Pituitary Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, International Society of Endocrinology and other.
Dr. Ioachimescu's current research is addressing predictive models for treatment outcomes in patients with pituitary tumors, long-term effects of pituitary hormone alterations on physical and mental health, impact of demographic characteristics on healthcare delivery and research, and novel therapies for acromegaly and Cushing’s syndrome.
