Biography

I am a neuroimmunology expert with extensive experience studying immune-to-brain signaling across stroke, infections, autoimmune disorders, and transplant complications. My research focuses on how the immune system and peripheral organs engage with the Central Nervous System (CNS) through complex mechanisms to regulate neuroinflammation, neuronal damage, cognitive deficits, and behavioral changes. The Graft Verus Host Disease (GVHD) model excels for neuroimmune translation, faithfully recapitulating human post-transplant CNS pathology – including T cell dissemination, microglial activation, and chemokine networks, enabling targeted therapies that protect the brain without aggravating systemic disease. Our goal is to utilize this model to identify new targets preclinically and improve the translational efficacy of neuroimmune-mediated targeted therapies for human disease.
