Biography

Mohamed Gadelkarim is an MD/PhD graduate student at the Medical College of Wisconsin (PhD) and Alexandria University (MD). During his medical training, he conducted research in the laboratory of Gerald Brandacher, MD, FAST, at the Johns Hopkins Medicine, focusing on stem cell–based immunomodulation and tolerance induction in vascularized composite allotransplantation. He later worked in the laboratory of Joseph J. Kaifi, MD, PhD, at the University of Missouri, where he studied strategies to overcome chemoresistance in non-small cell lung cancer using patient-derived tumor organoids and tumor organoid–T-cell coculture systems. He currently investigates the role of Rb and atypical E2F7/E2F8 in small-cell lung cancer, with broader interests in tumor microenvironment biology and precision oncology. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.
