Reimagining Care: Ben George, MD
Since the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, our patients’ safety has been paramount for our teams. As an associate professor of hematology and oncology, I understand that for the vast majority of patients on active cancer treatment, their risk from cancer is worse than the risk from COVID-19. Therefore, we have maximized precautions to ensure that treatment of these patients continue safely and without interruptions. Some of these precautions entail strict adherence to social distancing, comprehensive and thorough sanitization of our facilities as prescribed by the CDC, the use of essential personal protective equipment and utilization of virtual visits when possible.
