Medical Student Among 2022 President's Community Engagement Awardees

Raymond, Sr., and Interim Senior Associate Dean for Community Engagement Dr. Staci Young are recognizing outstanding individuals and teams for the 2022 President's Community Engagement Awards. These important annual awards highlight the outstanding endeavors of the staff, students, faculty and partners who exemplify excellence in community engagement.

Amongst this year recipients, Raquel Valdes is an outstanding medical student (M2), who has contributed to biomedical research in the Dr. Stephanie Olivier-Van Stichelen's lab since summer 2021 (MSSRP). Raquel has been heavily involved in the Latino Medical Student Association (LSMA) and has presented her work at the Latino Medical Student Association Midwest Conference in Chicago (Feb 2022) and the Latino Medical Student Association National Conference in Philadelphia (March 2022).
