Working in highly integrated 2-3 person teams, consultants develop their business acumen, enhance soft skills, broaden their professional network, and expand their knowledge of the business of science.
As a group, we participate in monthly development workshops, small group discussions, and large conferences where we rub shoulders with industry leaders from around the world. Former members have gone on to become consultants, product specialists, bench scientists, and patent agents.

Recruitment and hiring occurs on a rolling basis and applications are always welcome.
To apply you must currently be an employee of the Medical College of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, or Versiti Blood Research Institute, or a postdoctoral researcher or graduate student from the Medical College of Wisconsin or University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Graduate Student Catalyst BioConsulting (CBC) Policy
Since its inception, CBC has accepted applications only from postdocs. Due to the changing nature of academic training, CBC is now accepting applications from Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Graduate Students (GS).
GS will be considered trainee consultants and will be supervised by CBC consultants. GS will have the opportunity to shadow selected CBC consultants and learn via observation. This shadowing includes voluntarily participating in meetings with clients, and with the CBC team to whom the GS is assigned. The amount of time spent volunteering will be based on the student’s schedule. Graduate School responsibilities will always take priority. GS will also have the opportunity to attend learning workshops held once per month (Friday evening, 4-9pm).
At all times, the GS will ensure that their graduate schoolwork takes priority over all CBC activities.
Prerequisites:
a. GPA minimum: 3.5
b. Successfully passage of qualifying exam
c. Outline approved by the Dean of the Graduate School
d. Must be in their 3rd or 4th year of training
e. A 1-year time limit will be observed
f. GS must obtain their Advisor’s approval (in writing). A form will be provided to do so. This form will also include a guarantee that the GS has obtained permission from all thesis committee members to join CBC.
