Leading the way to the prevention of chronic disease

The Center for Disease Prevention Research aims to reduce the burden of diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. We engage across the missions of patient care, education, research, and community engagement to discover and implement approaches that prevent the occurrence and recurrence of chronic disease. Our work emphasizes the integration of lifestyle medicine and the translation of research into practical, real-world impact. Through these efforts, we aim to empower healthcare providers, trainees, patients, and the broader community with the knowledge and tools to better prevent, manage, and treat chronic disease.
